Meet a Mom Monday! Meet Jackie Krimm, the founder of Porch Patch CHS. Originally from the Philadelphia area, she moved to Charleston three years ago with her husband and their two little boys. They love the beach, playgrounds and just being outdoors! As a busy mom herself, she wanted to create something that made it easy for other families to enjoy the magic of autumn without the extra stress! With Porch Patch CHS, clients simply choose a pumpkin package and they deliver and design to their porch. The result is an instant porch glow-up that makes your home the best on the block without lifting a finger. Read more about Jackie below, why she wanted to bring a bit of a New England Fall down to Charleston, and what her life is like outside of her business, raising her family here in Charleston.
Where are you originally from and how long have you been in Charleston, SC?
I am originally from the Philadelphia area and am proud to call Charleston home for about three years now.
Tell us about your family
My husband, Kevin, and I have been married for six years this October. Together, we are raising our two energetic little boys, ages four and one and a half. We have a busy life filled with lots of laughs!
One thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I once modeled in a Limited Too magazine when I was younger.
What’s your favorite thing about raising a family in Charleston?
We absolutely love raising our family in Charleston! The beach is our happy place, and there’s always something fun to do outdoors with the kids. All the community events keep our boys busy and active.
Tell us about your business, Porch Patch CHS, and when & why you decided to start this business!
My favorite season has always been fall. Growing up in the Northeast, I loved the cooler weather, bonfires, sweaters, crunchy leaves and football season. After moving to Charleston, I missed that nostalgic fall feeling and I wanted to find a way to bring it here. I was inspired by other women who started their pumpkin delivery and design businesses, and I thought, “Why not me too?” That’s how my business began. This will be our first official fall in business and I am so excited to share the joy and traditions of fall with families in Charleston.

What is your favorite part about creating an autumn porch for your clients?
My favorite part of creating autumn porches is bringing that nostalgic fall feeling to life with pumpkins and cozy charm. Charleston has some of the most beautiful porches I have ever seen! We have rockers, lanterns and lots of Southern style. I love setting the seasonal vibe right at the entryway of the home.
Tell us about the different porch packages you offer.
We’ve created four packages that range in the amount of pumpkins so you can choose the size and style that feels right for your home or business. We service grand porches with lots of stairs to cozy little entry ways. Some clients love a small festive pop of fall, while others want to go all out. I love making both visions come to life.
Where do you make your deliveries around Charleston?
We currently service the greater Charleston area, with deliveries across Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley Counties.
How can a new client learn more about your porch packages?
They can visit our website at www.porchpatchchs.com or follow us on instagram @porchpatchchs
Tell us more about your work/life balance within motherhood.
Pumpkins by day, bedtime stories by night and a corporate sales job in between! My work life balance is busy but full of joy! This business is my creative outlet and the thing that keeps my cup full. I love to involve my husband and kids when I can. Sometimes you don’t know how you are going to get it all done, but you do.
Who has most influenced you to be the mom that you are today?
I have been blessed with incredible role models, it is hard to pick just one! My grandmothers, my mom and my mother-in-law have been amazing examples of moms for me. Each of them has brought their own unique strengths, from patience and resilience, to warmth and creativity. I have tried to carry those qualities into the way I parent my own boys.
One thing you wish someone would have told you about motherhood?
I wish someone had told me that motherhood is equal parts chaos and magic, and that sometimes coffee really does count as a meal.
What advice would you share with a new mom or other moms?
The days may be long, but the years go by fast. Give them that extra hug, read them that extra book and let them be little!
