2024 Apple season is here!! It might still be in the 90s, but apple season is almost here in the Lowcountry! A fun activity to do with family or friends as a day trip or a weekend away, apple picking is a fall staple, so I’ve rounded up some of the best places to visit! Be sure to check out each orchard’s website prior to visiting for more info.

Bryson’s Apple Orchard

Bryson’s is located in the beautiful Long Creek area of the Blue Ridge Mountains, three miles from the Chattooga River, fifteen miles from Oconee State Park, and six miles from Chau Ram State Park. Lakes Keowee, Jocassee, and Hartwell, along with over twenty waterfalls, and many marked hiking trails are just a few of the surrounding area attractions. There are many fun things to see and experience, so plan on a full day of adventure when you come to get your apples and peaches.

Chattooga Belle Farm is a 200 acre working farm, distillery and event barn located in beautiful Long Creek, South Carolina. You can grab a bite at Belle’s Bistro and have a drink at our distillery. Shop our general store, play the disc golf course, and even pick your own fruit. The farm is always open for foot traffic, disc golf and simply enjoying the view.

Grandad’s has several family fun activities to enjoy on the WEEKENDS including a Corn Maze, Cow Train, Apple Cannon and Kid’s Zone. Visit Grandad’s for the day and enjoy a variety of family fun activities on a 100-acre family farm and apple orchard located in Hendersonville NC near Asheville. Select pre-picked apples fresh off the trees daily from our bins or enjoy you-pick on select weekends. At Grandad’s Barn and Country Store, you will find a great selection of fall harvest decorations, apple peelers, apple bakers, and other apple gifts. Come by our bakery where we have hot cider donuts all day along with apple pies, cookies, hot cider, apple cider slushies, and many other apple goodies to eat!

We are proud to have over 25 varieties of apples available in our U-Pick orchards in addition to peaches, blueberries, blackberries, elderberries, flowers and pumpkins. Each fruit and apple variety becomes ripe at different times throughout the harvest season. When you arrive at Jeter Mountain Farm, one of our tractor-pulled wagons will take your family around our farm so that you can hop off at the orchard stop you desire. There is also Live Music, Food Truck, a children’s play area, hard cider taproom and more!
Justus Orchard

The Justus Family has been growing delicious NC Apples in Hendersonville for more than four generations, with our fifth generation now taking an active part. At our NC Apple Orchard, you will find U Pick or We Pick Apples or Pears and Blackberries. We invite you to experience picking your own NC Apples and enjoy a day in the beautiful Western North Carolina Mountains; there is something for everyone and all ages. During peak fall season: Monday-Thursday 9am to 5:30pm, Friday & Saturday 9am to 6pm, and Sundays 10am to 6pm
Along with our pick-your-own crops, we provide weekend family fun. There is a 5-acre corn maze to explore, an apple cannon to target, a jump pad, and wagon rides. We encourage you to bring a picnic and enjoy our picnic area by the orchard or visit the food trucks available on some weekends. Our 40 acres of apple orchard, one of Henderson County’s first pick-your-own orchards, has 26 apple varieties.
*Hendersonville’s Apple Festival, held annually on Labor Day Weekend to celebrate the apple crop, is a special event for our farm. Visit us at our booth near the Historic Courthouse that weekend for apples, apple cider slushies, apple cider donuts from our own bakery or come see us at the farm.
